| Trobleshooting Listen Game worked yesterday, but doesn't work today. What gives? Try closing and restarting your browser. The game is still under development and we are constantly updating the code often based on feedback from users. This means that the client applet gets outdated and needs to be reloaded periodically. When I click "Play", I get a message saying 'Error: no Java Virtual Machine Found' To play the game, you need to have recent version of the Java JRE brower pluggin (version 1.5 or later). To get this free and easy-to-install pluggin, go to www.java.com/getjava/. The game says: 'Could not load clips. Waiting for next round.' Once you press "Play", we try to connect you with everyone else and get you playing Listen Game as soon as possible. However, since there may already be a game in progess, you may have to wait a short while until the next round is ready to accept new players. Wait about 20 seconds, the song for the next round will load and you can start playing. The game says: 'could not connect to server' You maybe behind a firewall or have security settings that prevent our server from connecting to your game applet. For example, your firewall might prevent us from streaming audio or opening a network connection. You will have to talk to your network administrator about this problem. That didn't work! It still says: 'could not connect to server' It's unlikely, but the server may be down for maintainance. In this case, please send us an email at listengame@gmail.com or wait a few minutes to give us time to fix the problem, restart your browser and start playing. Listen Game causes my browser to crash / freeze / start crying / ... While we have done everything possible to make Listen Game as robust as possible, we're still ironing our some bugs. If anything strange, unpleasant or unexpected happens, or if you just have a good idea about how we could make Listen Game better, please send us email at listengame@gmail.com. Please include information about what browser / operating system you're using, what exactly you were doing when the problem occurred and anything else that you can think of that will help us to solve the problem. |
